Kadinche Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereafter, Kadinche) will participate as a partner company in the virtual production studio “DNP XR STUDIO” that combines AI and XR to be established by Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President: Kitajima Yoshinari hereafter: DNP) on its own premises in Ichigaya, Tokyo.

In this studio, new video expressions are made possible by combining high-resolution, high-speed motion capture and virtual production equipment with efficiency improvement and expression expansion technology using generative AI. Furthermore, we provide one-stop solutions to issues common to the video production industry, such as “cost,” “delivery time,” and “shortage of human resources.”

[Background and Aim]

As demand for XR and 3D images expands in various fields such as advertisements, music, games, and live streaming, etc., shortages of locations and human resources, and delays in shooting due to weather risks have become major issues at production sites. To solve these issues, DNP has now established “DNP XR STUDIO,” which integrates “AI,” “XR,” “dedicated equipment,” and “exclusive production and technical teams,” and has realized a new video production environment that achieves both high efficiency and expressiveness.

Kadinche has promoted system development and virtual production studio operations in XR and AI with the mission of “exploring space-time and human expansion technology and contributing to human evolution.” Starting with partner participation in “DNP XR STUDIO” this time, we will further expand our points of contact with the XR/video industry, and work to raise the level of the video expression and content industry originating in Japan as a “place of co-creation” to resolve issues common to the industry, demonstrate technology, and share knowledge.

[Features of “DNP XR STUDIO”]

1. All-in-one equipment
“DNP XR STUDIO” is a facility directly connected to an underground parking lot located in the center of the city with easy access, and is equipped with industry-standard motion capture (Vicon), LED walls, and green backs. It also supports real-time synthesis using Unreal Engine and Unity, and you can shoot while checking the finished image on site.

2. Production support using generative AI
Generative AI is used to streamline background generation and rendering. Even after shooting, it is possible to flexibly respond to changes in characters and lighting. We support the entire process from planning to finishing.

3. Support by dedicated staff
Producers and technical staff are stationed, and companies that produce XR images for the first time can use it with peace of mind.

4. Cooperation with Co-Creation Partners
We collaborate with industry pioneers Activ8 Co., Ltd., Cadinche Co., Ltd., and Zooper Zoos LLC, and contribute to revitalizing the entire industry, such as collaborating with the XR Consortium.
