What is MR (mixed reality)

MR is called “mixed reality,” and it is a technology that “fuses” reality and virtual objects.
Artificial virtual world information and objects created with CG etc. are taken into the real world, and virtual world objects and real world objects interact.

By recognizing three-dimensional shapes in real space, MR recognizes space, such as placing a virtual object on the ground or desk in a real space, and accurately expressing the back-and-forth relationship.

There are also devices that use video see-through 3D as equipment, but there are also those that use optical see-through 3D using translucent liquid crystals like sunglasses. Generally, equipment using video see-through 3D can be expressed more accurately. In addition to a physical controller, hand gesture operation has also been realized.

What is AR (Augmented Reality: Augmented Reality)

AR is called “augmented reality,” and it is a technology that “superimposes” virtual objects on reality.
It is characterized by being able to display additional information in a real space, and it is a technology that adds one layer to reality.

Unlike the MR described above, most AR technologies often do not refer to shape information or three-dimensional information in the real world, and this includes 3D drawing with optical see-through using translucent lenses like sunglasses.

In addition, in recent years, technology that can perform plane recognition and 3D scanning in the real world using smartphone cameras has also increased, and technological innovation is progressing.

What is Spatial Computing (Spatial Computing)

Spatial computing was defined by Simon Greenwald in 2003 as “human interaction with machines in which machines hold references to actual objects and spaces, and operate them.”

It is a concept that digitizes the movement and environment of machines, people, and things, and realizes and optimizes mutual interaction, and in recent years, the “Apple Vison Pro” announced by Apple has attracted attention because it uses the expression “spatial computing” without using words such as VR, AR, and MR.

What Kadinche can do

  • AR/MR application development
  • Attraction development using MR
  • Prototype application development based on the Spatial Computing concept

Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Hall

妖怪めがねの異界案内

Kadinche Co., Ltd. conducted a demonstration experiment of the exhibition guide content “Yokai Glasses: A Guide to Another World (Guide)” using mixed reality (mixed reality, hereinafter MR) headsets, at the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Hall (Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture) with the cooperation of the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Hall and Mizuki Productions.

Development of Kabuki AR/MR application Reverse Reality

歌舞伎AR MRアプリReverse Reality

Together with Shochiku Co., Ltd. and the following cooperating companies, Kadinche Co., Ltd. has released an application “INTO by Shochiku” with the theme of “future theater experience,” AR Kabuki content “Reverse Reality ~ KABUKI Performance “Shakkyo” ~” that can be enjoyed within that app, and “Reverse Reality” below.
