Development of an “XR training program” utilizing XR technology

Kadinche Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Takayuki Aoki) has recently updated the “VR training program” developed so far in collaboration with Secom Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Yoshida), and has developed an “XR training program” that adds XR (cross-reality) technology combining VR/AR and practical intruder response simulations using a warning bar type controller.

(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Yoshida), and has developed an “XR training program” that adds XR (cross-reality) technology combining VR/AR and practical intruder response simulations using a warning bar type controller.
Until now, Kadinche and SECOM collaborated to develop the first “VR training program” in the security industry in 2017/11, and have been used within the SECOM Group. In 2019, we further incorporated a gamification approach and developed a “2nd generation VR training program” that performs patrol security and inspections in virtual spaces, incorporating exploratory elements and motivational elements based on scoring.
The “XR training program” newly developed this time recreates an office or house in a virtual space within a headset. It is a practical type that responds to intruders appearing from blind spots using a security bar-type controller that imitates a security guard possesses. It is characterized by the high level of action using a warning stick type controller, and the ability to visualize one's own movements through objective scoring of the movement and confirmation of replays from a third party's point of view. Surrounding safety during training was also ensured by XR technology, which combines fully immersive VR and AR, which adds various information to the real environment.
The training program developed this time was born under the strategic collaboration project “SECOM DESIGN FACTORY” between SECOM and its partners aimed at creating innovative and original services.
